Are you looking for the inner inspiration and motivation to start your own business? In order to better understand the variables that motivate people to follow their entrepreneurial aspirations, we conducted a nationwide poll of more than 1,200 American adults from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Our main lesson? Not everything has to do with money, success, or even business. It is this: People are more inclined to become entrepreneurs if they believe that their lives have purpose.

It goes deeper than that, actually. We saw a pattern among those who stated they wanted to start a business: they were all motivated, self-assured, and goal-focused, and they all believed they could lead meaningful lives. In fact, poll participants who strongly believe they can lead meaningful lives also had the most favourable views of entrepreneurs, regardless of whether they have intentions to launch a business or not.
